BIO

Panos studied Pharmaceutical Sciences in the University of Thessaloniki, Greece where he worked also as a Medicinal Chemistry instructor. For his Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology from Yale University, he studied the intracellular trafficking and quaternary structure of membrane proteins in the lab of Dr. Jack Rose. He did his postdoctoral work in the lab of Dr. Spyros Artavanis-Tsakonas, working on cloning of human Notch1 and Notch2 genes and exploring their function, their processing /activation and their involvement in cancer.

Panos worked in biotech companies where he designed and developed monoclonal antibodies and ISH reagents and techniques for cancer detection. At Pfizer he worked on Genomics and Computational Biology, supporting many preclinical and clinical projects in Cancer, Inflammation, Neurodegeneration and Psychiatric Diseases.  His role involved identification of novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers, exploring pathways and linking them with the therapeutic efficacy and toxicity of developmental compounds and drugs.  At BioPharmaWorks he consults with biotechs on immunology and inflammation, cancer, and CNS projects.

Over 30 patents and scientific publications.
